Making A Sims 4 Machinima!?

As much as I enjoy making animations, (sarcasm) my real motive in learning how to make custom animations for The Sims 4 was so I could make some pretty awesome machinima. (I'm not blowing my own trumpet here, stay with me)

Anyway, I thought if I could learn how to do that, I could make great machinima.

Oops.

I spent last night learning how much time and effort ACTUALLY goes into making a machinima while I spent hours trying to film some decent footage, then over 3.5 hours editing video to produce a (still pretty poor) 40 second long intro.

I take my Sim-hat off to all you dedicated machinima makers out there. Not only for the time and effort you put into your creations, but for somehow managing to not throw your computers out the window or put a fist through the screen when your Sims can't behave for you. (._.)

That said, after all that I love seeing it all come together like this and I AM going to finish this with as much heart as when I started and join you all in the "machinima makers" club. (lol)

(Also I'm making a LOT of custom animations for this, so I'll probably package some of those up and make them available for download if anyone's interested in those)

I upload custom animations on youtube here: Link

Sims 4 Custom Animation in Blender (Pass Out)

I already said this on youtube, but although I don't have many followers, I want to try and post regular updates for the tiny follower army I do have. :)

However as I tend to work on several different things at once, it sometimes takes me a while to completely finish something, so I figure I'll post some of the things I'm working on now and again.

This one still needs work, obviously, but here's a sample of my new animation pack:

Feel free to comment on any of my posts, by the way!

Sims 4 Hospital Room

There may be bits and pieces of custom content, but I think I have managed to create an okay looking hospital room without any expansion, game, or stuff packs. I just need to see if I can find a more suitable desk / table to use as a bed table because this one doesn't quite cut it...

Sims (Machinima) Bloopers #1

You might be familiar with Henry, the kid who clearly dislikes my directing:

...but as I'm sure you all know, when we're trying to film machinima or get some good screenshots, disobedient sims come in waves. I thought it'd be funny to post some of the one's I run into now and again, so here they are:

I don't think you quite got that "sad and lonely" right

Annoying World Sim push-ups

Is he okay...?

"Is she okay...?"
..........

"Is SHE OKAY? O_o"

Sims 4 Custom Dance Animation in Blender (Work In Progress)

So I gave up on Inverse Kinematics for now and started making a dance animation instead:

I'm not sure if I'm going to do anything with this or not because I'm feeling a bit lazy and I'm pretty sick of blender now...

Sims 4 Inverse Kinematic (IK) Rig In Blender For Easier / Faster Joint Movement - Progress?

So I've spent ages searching online hoping to find an answer to this question: Why are sims 4 models so tedious to pose compared to other models?

Maybe I'm just stupid and I'm missing something completely obvious. I'm a total noob when it comes to this animation thing afterall. But I just can't seem to find any answers...

So after watching several tutorials on rigging models on youtube, I've been playing around with the default rig from The Sims 4 Studio and I think I might have made some progress with it:

Here is a sample of default method we're familiar with:
(basically a bit of a pain in the butt)

And here is what I've managed to figure out so far:

It's still pretty horrible of course, but as I have no real idea what the heck I'm doing, I'd say it's not that bad... I'm learning things.

I've got a couple of other things I want to try, including learning how to rig an .obj model to see if I can make some progress there instead.

If anyone happens to know how to make this better, or how to properly use Inverse Kinematics on Sims 4 models, please, PLEASE do share! For the sake of all Sims 4 animatiors' sanity. ;)

When You're Trying To Film and Your Sims be Like:

 "Nope"
You do not look impressed with my directing, Henry.
Now, play with your cannon properly...

Sims 4 Custom Animation Pack - Arch Window Animations by Linnypig

This is my first animation pack!
The pack includes 3 short animation sequences for The Sims 4

(Download Link at the bottom)

---------------------------------------------------------------------

---------------------------------------------------------------------

---------------------------------------------------------------------

---------------------------------------------------------------------

How To Use:

- You need to make sure you have Andrew's Pose Player installed (Click here to download)
- Unzip the folder and place the .package file into:
"Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\Mods"
Once installed, clicking on your sim in game should bring up this menu:

Select "pose by pack" then select the animation pack as shown below:

Then select which animation within the pack you want your sim to perform:

And there you go!

(Note: I cannot solve any problems you have with installing the pose player and getting it to work because I'm clueless when it comes to mods)

P.S I'm going to upload a video of ALL THREE animations.
